Insight Publications Editor Amelia Compton Wolff

The Illuminating Women art exhibition is a celebration of inspiring women who have made a lasting impact within their communities.

Through a collection of photography and biographical narratives, the exhibit honors trailblazers, caregivers, leaders, and everyday heroines whose courage, creativity, and resilience have shaped lives around them.  Each piece captures a unique journey, creating a tapestry of strength and hope that invites visitors to reflect on the enduring influence of women.  This week, we're highlighting the editor of Insight Publications LLC, Amelia Compton Wolff.

Amelia Compton Wolff

Amelia Compton Wolff is the editor at Insight Publications. As long as she can remember, Amelia has loved writing. She wrote her first "book" by hand in the pages of a Mead notebook when she was only eight years old. Perceptive and thoughtful beyond her young age, she processed the divorce of her friend's parents in these pages. An enthusiastic go-getter, she studied English and welcomed every opportunity to write at different magazines and publications. After many freelance assignments, her dedication paid off and led her to her current dream job as an editor. In addition to her day job, she is raising two young boys. Amelia and her husband have made their home in their farmhouse with plenty of land for their family. To unwind, Amelia appreciates home cooked dinners and time outdoors with her family.

Amelia's hero is her journalist mother who encouraged her to pursue her passion and a career in journalism. She learned that when she follows her heart over her logical brain, she will have a great experience. When a job became unsustainable, she changed course and focused on her love of writing. This led her to her current position. In her writing and in life, Amelia is open-minded and careful not to make assumptions. She is a caring listener and always aims to learn more from others.  She is drawn to the underdog and values equity in storytelling. In her own writing, she seeks to amplify voices from diverse backgrounds. As she has found, everyone has something to contribute.

Amelia exudes confidence and poise. She is comfortable handling difficult subjects and reflects thoughtfully before responding. In a moment of self-doubt, she focuses on her work and her strengths, and lets her own track record do the talking. Becoming a mother has made her more introspective and regard the world with fresh eyes. Amelia works toward a future free of gun violence by contacting her representatives in support of sensible gun reform. She hopes we will create better social structures for families in our country. According to Amelia, it is vital not to give up on something good because of one misstep. She recommends focusing on the goal and putting in the extra work to achieve it.
