Milwaukee Brewers Baseball At Miller Park
Capturing Nostalgia: Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park
There’s something magical about walking into a ballpark on a late-summer afternoon. The smell of hot dogs and popcorn in the air, and the sight of the field stretching out in its perfect geometry, remind me why this is America's pastime. These film photographs date back to 2017, when I had the joy of attending a Milwaukee Brewers game with family and friends. While most came for the camaraderie, the food, and the chance to cheer on the Brewers, I came with another layer of excitement, ready to capture the nostalgia of it with my $35 vintage film camera.
There’s a patience to film photography that mirrors the pace of baseball.
Both require waiting, watching, and savoring the moments that slowly unfold. The grain and tones of film brought out its timelessness, like I could have been standing there fifty years ago, witnessing the same joy and traditions of the crowd.
At its core, baseball has always been about more than runs and innings. It’s about shared experiences and the way a game can connect generations. As I looked around at my family and friends, I realized that my photographs were preserving more than the game. They were preserving us in that moment. I turn to film to capture experiences like these. Baseball isn’t just played on the field; it’s lived in the stands.
