I love being a photographer, so this may seem self-explanatory, but this is something I really believe in: you must invest in your wedding photography. I feel that it is so important to connect with your wedding photographer and to choose one you can relate with, because on your wedding day, you spend more time with the photographer than anyone else at the wedding (other than your new spouse!)
What’s more, it’s important that you find someone who will capture those memories that are most important to you. The time that you spend on the flowers, the hours you spend tying the little tiny bows onto the favors, the days that you agonize over chicken or fish—all of these memories fade with time unless captured by a photographer.
It happens in an instant. The months, the years of planning all go by in a blink of an eye. But your photographer can help to preserve those memories. Whether it’s the moment getting ready when you realize today is your day or the moment your father reflects on it or the moment your brand new husband dances with you and your flower girl falls asleep under the table, the images fade unless they are captured.
There are no “re-dos”—you get married once and will cherish these photographs forever. I can’t stress enough the importance of making the investment. You will pass these images down for generations to come.
Seriously—it is so important for you to invest in a good photographer to capture these memories. It’s not just another detail in your wedding planning; it’s the one detail that will make sure you remember all the others.
