Chicago Film Photography
There’s a certain magic in wandering through Chicago with a film camera in hand.
The weight of it, the click of the shutter, the patience required to see what develops—it all feels like a quiet rebellion against the instant gratification of the digital world. Today, Chicago is my canvas.

I walk through the streets of downtown while scanning for the interplay of light and shadow.
After raising my camera, I frame a composition where steel meets sky and where light bends around the rigid lines of architecture. The shutter clicks and a moment is preserved.
Chicago’s details reveal themselves to those who take the time to notice. The worn stone of a historic façade, the elaborate carvings that time has softened but not erased. The way neon signs flicker to life as the sky shifts from blue to indigo. The reflections in the river, distorting the city like an impressionist painting. I move with purpose but without hurry, savoring each frame, knowing that each roll of film has its limits.
There’s a thrill in the unknown.
How will these images turn out? Did I capture my feelings or did the camera find something else entirely? That’s the beauty of film: the waiting, the wondering, and the quiet anticipation of a moment rediscovered.
