As a visual artist, the world of live theater is more than just entertainment—it’s a wellspring of artistic inspiration. The shifting lights, the expressive costumes, the emotional storytelling, and the larger-than-life performances all spark new ideas for me. Wicked has held a special place in my heart for years.
The Magic of Theater as an Artistic Muse
I have always been drawn to the immersive experience of live theater. Unlike film or television, theater offers a raw energy—no two performances are alike. The interplay of set design, lighting, and movement fuels my imagination, giving me new ways to think about composition, color, and form.
There’s something electric about sitting in a darkened theater, watching a story unfold in real time. The way the lights shift to set the mood, the costumes that reveal so much about the characters, and the choreography lay the foundation of the story.
Of all the productions I have seen, Wicked has been a defining influence.
The story of Elphaba, the misunderstood Wicked Witch of the West, resonates with me both emotionally and visually. The moment Elphaba rises into the air during ‘Defying Gravity’ is one of the most visually stunning scenes I’ve ever witnessed.

My children inspire me everyday.
They teach me endless lessons about life, creativity and the power of being present. No two paths are alike and I wouldn't be on this personal journey without them.
