People keep asking me, “So, what do you even do?”
I know you’re confused and eager to know the answer. So, let me tell you.
I’m an artist, photographer, educator and blogger. In addition, a freelance photo retoucher. I bet you didn’t know that.
My retouching journey began in a portrait studio nearly two decades ago.
But, it wasn’t until I began working at Widen in Madison, Wisconsin, that my knowledge of Photoshop and color theory grew exponentially. Working with high-end clients allowed me to recognize how critical color can be. As a life-long learner, I became eager to explore this new territory.
Widen took a chance on me so many years ago. And for that, I’m forever grateful.
Fast forward to 2014, when I began as a freelance photo retoucher at Kohler Company.
While scrolling through social media, I came across this opportunity. I had a feeling it would be a good fit for me. As it turns out, I was right. Six years later, I continue working with Kohler.
I’m now accepting additional retouching clients on a freelance basis. So, spread the word…
It’s ironic that I do extensive retouching for clients.
Even though, I do little to no retouching on my fine art.
You know what else is ironic? I work with high-end, color critical clients. Whereas, my fine art is almost entirely in black and white.
