My solo travel adventures through France begin today.

Chateau Orquevaux is the final destination for today, but a lot will happen between then and now.

It's important for me to begin this travel journal with a grateful heart.  This solo travel experience wouldn't be possible if it weren't for the support of my incredible family, especially my husband.  His continuous support over the last several years made this adventure possible.  He listened intently when we began the hard conversations about searching for fulfilling work and creating work that matters.  Oftentimes, he recognized the spark in me even before I had.

That doesn't mean the conversations were always easy.  In fact, they were really hard.  Imagine the anxiety that rises when it's time to begin a difficult conversation with, "It's time to let go of the business I worked so hard to build and let it grow into what it's meant to be."  Finally, I said out loud what was written on my heart for years.

As I contemplate the days ahead and my goals for the next two weeks, I look around a nearly deserted Appleton International Airport.  Let the solo travel begin...
