Artist Residency Opportunities

I'm supposed to be packing my bags for a solo trip to France.

But, life doesn’t always go as planned.  In the Spring of 2020, I was accepted into the artist residency at Chateau d'Orquevaux.  I’m looking forward to exploring the quaint villages of the French countryside and telling the locals' stories.  The Chateau d'Orquevaux artist residency will have to wait until international travel resumes.

I refuse to let this delay get me down and look at it as an opportunity to explore other options in the Midwest.  As a result, the Trout Museum of Art's accepted me into their artist residency program.  TMA is located in my home state of Wisconsin.

My artist residency at the Trout Museum of Art runs from March 1 through May 28, 2021.

This opportunity gives me the chance to explore a variety of mediums and make further progress on current projects.  It's difficult being a visual artist.  People don't understand my life's vision and often think I'm crazy.  Once I stopped worrying about everyone else's thoughts and focused on my own, my artistic vision came alive.  And remains alive today.  We don’t need to have all the answers.  We just need to put one foot in front of the other and take one step at a time, no matter how small they might be.

My vision becomes reality as I continue creating and telling stories.

I'm taking this artist residency at Trout Museum of Art because I want to share my experience and knowledge with the local community.  I am passionate about supporting the local arts because each of us has an inner creative spark waiting to be ignited.

Challenges provide opportunities for growth.  I accept these challenges with an open heart and optimism.
