Becky Moreno

Becky Moreno came to the United States in 2011 with her family so her engineer husband could pursue a job opportunity.  Although she planned on staying only for a few years, she decided to stay for the benefit of her family.  Becky always wanted to be a mother and shines in that role.  Fully embracing the American school experience, Becky is very involved in her four children’s life.  You will find her at all games and practices, proudly cheering them on.  She always encourages them to work hard and to try their best. Becky is a very active member of Holy Family Catholic Community.  To recharge, Becky enjoys books and movies.  When time allows it, Becky enjoys group fitness classes at the YMCA.

Becky feels her life has always been blessed, both here and in Mexico.   She leads with honesty and compassion.  She gives each person the gift of her undivided attention.  That is why you will not find her cell phone in sight.  Becky is proud of her Mexican heritage and culture.  At home, Becky makes sure everyone speaks Spanish.  She also relishes her job as English Language Learners (ELL) program specialist at Moraine Park Technical College.  As a graduate of the program herself, she feels accomplished helping other immigrants navigate a new language, culture and country.  Becky truly appreciates the company of people from around the world.  With this meaningful job, she cherishes having something of her own.

In daily life, Becky values the little things.  She is grateful for a nice day.  She treasures laughing with her children and talking with her mother.  She appreciates a quiet evening when everyone else is already asleep.  Becky hopes to be a grandmother in the future and to always be close with her family.    Sometimes, Becky wishes she could make cell phones disappear.  She is sad that many people focus more on their technology than on another person.  Becky believes that the world would be a better place if everyone would be more attentive to others.
